Joe Biden’s International Corruption and My Battle as Prosecutor General of Independent Ukraine: Viktor Shokin. Kyiv. Yurincom Press. 2025. 180 p.
This biographical book was written by Viktor Shokin, Ukraine’s prosecutor general from 2015 to 2016, about his career, complex investigative work, and the risks and dangers he faced in his search for justice. The core of the book focuses on the story of international corruption with ties to US Vice President Joseph Biden, which unfolded from 2014 to 2016 and was investigated by the author in an attempt to shed light on the matter. The author believes that the crimes and offenses committed by the US high-ranking official in Ukraine are mainly related to his son Hunter’s activities on the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian company Burisma. The author also lifts the veil on the political and personal aspects of the relationship between the president of Ukraine and his closest associates and the US vice president in 2015 and 2016. The book is full of state and official documents, correspondence from high-ranking officials, lawsuits, and court decisions that support the author’s points of view. Most of the documents are published for the first time.
